Thursdays at 12:00 PM

Bring a sack lunch and your Bible for an hour and a half study/fellowship into our continued our examination of:

The Book of Ezra, Chapter 7:

Ezra records events surrounding the return of the Jews from Babylonia (Persia) to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the temple.  This book makes up one of three "Post-exilic" books in the Old Testament (Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther).
After detailing the first return of exiles from Persia to Jerusalem (chapters 1-6), chapter 7 introduces us to the Levite priest Ezra--for whom the book is named--and the second wave of exiles, 50 years after the dedication of the "second" temple by the first group of exiles under Zerubbabel.

Discussion includes reading through the section, periodic handouts, and Hebrew word study and commentary on the narrative.

Pastor Douglas Escue is the instructor/host.
In addition to reading and studying a chapter, Hebrew word studies and visual references, charts, and maps assist in digging deeper into the text.
