Bring a sack lunch and your Bible for an hour and a half study/fellowship into our continued our examination of:
The Book of Ezra, Chapter 7:
Ezra records events surrounding the return of the Jews from Babylonia (Persia) to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the temple. This book makes up one of three "Post-exilic" books in the Old Testament (Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther).Â
After detailing the first return of exiles from Persia to Jerusalem (chapters 1-6), chapter 7 introduces us to the Levite priest Ezra--for whom the book is named--and the second wave of exiles, 50 years after the dedication of the "second" temple by the first group of exiles under Zerubbabel. Â
Â
Discussion includes reading through the section, periodic handouts, and Hebrew word study and commentary on the narrative.Â

In addition to reading and studying a chapter, Hebrew word studies and visual references, charts, and maps assist in digging deeper into the text.Â
