New Study: The Hand of God
During this Lenten season, we will focus on the Hand of the Lord. Specifically, we will be focusing on the hand of our Lord Jesus, God in the flesh, the Creator.
Although there are fewer references of God’s hand in the New Testament as there are in the Old Testament, it is in the NT that Jesus hands and the work they do remind us of God’s merciful and personal way that he condescends to us in his flesh.
We will look at several examples in the Bible that speak of the way Christ used His hands alongside His life-giving words to bring forgiveness, life, and salvation.
Martin Luther (1483–1546) said:
“I am much afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, and engraving them in the hearts of youth.”
