Protocols for public worship events at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Santa Fe, New Mexico

(May 2021)

In lieu of the most recent statements (05.16) released by the CDC (see below) and the State of New Mexico Department of Health, and after consulting with Parish Nurse Barbara Damron and Immanuel's Board of Elders, the decision has been made to no longer require masks for Divine Services and other activities at Immanuel.  We encourage those who have yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccinations to still wear a mask.  However, for whatever reason, if you feel more comfortable wearing your mask, please, feel free to do so.

....from the Centers for Disease Control website:

  • If you are fully vaccinated, you can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic.
  • Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
  • If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, find a vaccine.

  • Worship bulletins will be available in a basket at the entrance door
  • Please use hand sanitizer when arriving at church (your own or sanitizer provided on Information Table)
  • Weekly Communion distribution will consist of fewer no more than seven individuals at a time approaching the altar to receive the Sacrament.  Once communicants are dismissed, they will exit the sanctuary at the side door (east door) and return to their pew through the entrance door.
  • For those who choose not to attend, live video conferencing using Zoom will be available.  To access the ZOOM service, please, click the hyperlink found on the Welcome page.  Services will be recorded and posted to Facebook and YouTube
